Prevention Workgroup
Preventing cancer before it starts
The Prevention Workgroup brings together public health professionals, healthcare providers, researchers, community organizations, advocates, and survivors to reduce Georgians’ risk of developing cancer. The workgroup advances proven cancer-prevention strategies, including reducing tobacco use, promoting HPV vaccination, supporting healthy eating and physical activity, improving sun safety, and reducing exposure to cancer-causing substances. Members collaborate to identify needs, share effective approaches, and support policies, systems, and community changes that make healthy choices easier for all Georgians. Together, we are working toward a Georgia where every community has the information, resources, and opportunities needed to prevent cancer and improve health.
